The Future of Subrogation

CCC's Creators & Innovators blog series features members of our team discussing what excites them most about the work they're doing and how they're contributing to CCC's growth and success. This month, we're featuring a Q&A with CCC® Safekeep's Associate Director of Product Management, Luka Anić, on the future of subrogation.

How long have you been with CCC and what was your previous professional experience?

I joined CCC in January 2023. While I have extensive product experience, I am new to the insurance and subrogation industries. My background is primarily in fintech, where I spent years working at smaller companies building digital banking products for some of the world’s largest financial institutions.

What excites you most about the work you're doing for CCC® Safekeep?

The subrogation team is finding new ways to do old things. I like that my team is working on building solutions that solve actual problems and address needs, and not just putting a shiny coat on old ways. As part of the larger CCC organization, I think our team is well positioned to enable a seamless subrogation experience that automates, expedites, and enhances processes that today take a lot of manual effort.

Where do you see subrogation headed in the next 5 years?

I see subrogation becoming more automated soon, allowing workers to focus on interactions that require expertise and finesse. Too much time today is spent on reviews, follow ups, and unnecessary negotiation. I believe human involvement will always be necessary, but it should be reserved for more complex cases with the biggest impact.

What's your favorite thing about working for CCC?

People here care about providing not just the best results but also the best experiences for our customers and for our coworkers. Collaboration can be seen in every team and across teams. CCC is a large organization with a lot of untapped potential, but its people continuously strive to bring out the best in all of us. No matter how difficult the task is, we focus on doing the right thing.
