Environmental, Social, and Governance

Corporate Responsibility at CCC
At CCC, we are committed to being good corporate citizens and conducting our business in a responsible and sustainable manner. Our environmental, social and governance (ESG) approach aligns with our corporate strategy and our mission to keep people’s lives moving forward when it matters most.
Guided by our core values of integrity, customer-centricity, innovation, inclusion & diversity, tenacity, and connection, we are embracing ESG principles that create long-term value for our customers, stockholders, employees, and the communities in which we live and work.
Our efforts are advanced through a committed cross-functional ESG team, integrating sustainability, responsible practices, and stakeholder engagement into our operations. To date, we have conducted an ESG issues assessment (facilitated by a consultant) and performed an inaugural greenhouse gas emissions assessment.
Follow us on our journey as we continue to innovate and drive positive change, and see below for an overview of featured initiatives within our ESG program. Together, we can create a world where technology and responsible business practices make a lasting impact on society and the environment.

At CCC, our mission is to help our more than 35,000 customers across the P&C insurance economy keep people’s lives moving forward when it matters most. This means delivering innovations that combine advanced technology, AI, and human insight to provide the best possible outcome for our customers and their end consumers. It has been a privilege to support this industry for several decades as we’ve streamlined complex processes amid continuous societal shifts.
Through it all, one thing remains constant: CCC is committed to operating with integrity.
We are working to ensure sustainability and an inclusive and diverse culture where everyone is welcome. As a technology leader we take compliance very seriously, employing discipline and rigor in our practices to safeguard and manage data moving through our systems. We look forward to the road ahead and continuing to work with many of you who, like CCC, care deeply about these principles and creating a better future for all.
ESG Oversight
CCC’s Board of Directors takes a multi-threaded approach to maintaining the Company’s ESG programs, governance, and risk management activities, including the development of several committees.
These committees have directed CCC management to develop and implement CCC’s growing ESG program and provide oversight and guidance via periodic updates from management to the Board on related topics. Consistent with Nasdaq’s Board Diversity Rules, CCC publicly discloses diversity statistics regarding the composition of the Board in its annual Proxy Report.

Environmental
CCC recognizes the profound impact of climate change on our planet. We are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint and contributing to the global effort to address climate change. Our commitment starts with our solutions, which are automating and digitizing the auto insurance economy and helping to reduce the environmental impact of claims processing.
Product Sustainability
Our product and service offerings are inherently friendly to the environment. By facilitating the transition from paper-based processes to digital workflows, we not only enhance efficiency but also significantly reduce our customers’ reliance on paper. This leads to decreased consumption of natural resources and associated emissions of GHGs and other pollutants.
Internally, CCC leverages software solutions for our business functions and employs technology recycling and reuse programs.
4X more energy efficient leveraging cloud technology over traditional data centers
CCC leverages cloud providers, enabling 4 times the energy efficiency available with traditional data centers. Our chosen partners have targets to use 100% renewable energy by the end of 2025, improving our carbon footprint further. We operate a hybrid work model which reduces our commuting-related emissions. We leverage SaaS solutions to support our business needs, which lowers our computer storage and processing needs.
Headquarters are LEED-Gold and Energy-Star Certified
CCC has completed Scope 1, 2, and 3 Greenhouse Gas (GHG) assessments for 2021 and is underway for 2022. Our goal is to leverage this data to better understand and benchmark our carbon footprint and to inform our future goals to reduce emissions across our business.
92,000 plastic water bottles saved from landfills from CCC’s Chicago HQ
CCC’s HQ office is LEED GOLD and Energy Star-certified. We operate robust recycling programs and provide water dispensers at each of our offices to reduce plastic waste. Our Chicago HQ building also supports local business sustainability through a partnership with The Roof Crop, a rooftop garden that collaborates with local restaurants and the creation of sustainable products.

Social
The key to CCC’s continued success is our people, supported by a people-first culture. We remain committed to building diverse teams and fostering an environment where creative ideas and unique perspectives are welcomed and celebrated. CCC believes that strength comes from diversity, which is why we work with people and suppliers representing a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives.
A Committed Diversity Council
Employees in CCC's Diversity Advisory Council span multiple business groups, locations and job functions. CCC’s commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D) is a critical focus as we work together to achieve our business objectives. Our I&D strategy is centered on developing inclusive leaders, fostering and building a diverse and inclusive workplace, investing in our communities, and demonstrating our I&D commitment in the marketplace.
6 Employee Resource Groups
Employee Resources Groups at CCC include African American Alliance, the Women’s Network, Growing Professionals, PROUD, CCC Se Puede, and PACT. CCC is committed to a culture where everyone is included, energized, focused, and engaged. We continue to introduce new Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), leverage actionable insights from our employee-led Diversity Advisory Council, and conduct regular all-employee surveys. Our leadership team listens, understands, and acts on that feedback to make CCC an even better place to work. We have multiple policies in place to protect employees and employee-led interactions, including those relating to Employment Status and Definitions, Equal Employment Opportunity, Moonlighting, Responsible Marketing, Non-Discrimination, Human Rights, and Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining.
$7M in Donations
In 2022, CCC donated more than $6M in software to help train repair technicians and nearly $1M was donated through the CCC Gives Back program, which includes corporate giving and employee giving matched by CCC.
Another initiative within our broader ESG program is CCC’s charitable giving platform, which matches employee donations to charitable organizations and rewards their volunteer time. We are also invested in developing the future workforce of the U.S. by donating software to vocational schools to help train tomorrow’s repair technicians. We support future software developers by sponsoring local nonprofits like the Chicago chapter of Black Girls Code.

Governance
CCC is dedicated to conducting business consistent with the highest standards of business ethics and in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. As a technology leader, we take our data management responsibilities very seriously. We engage in annual assessments of our internal controls to continuously monitor our efforts to safeguard data in compliance with related laws and regulations.
Ethical Conduct
CCC promotes honest, ethical, and lawful conduct, based on our Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, Global Anti-Bribery, Whistleblower, Fraud Control, and Insider Trading policies that are supported by annual training programs for employees and others dealing with CCC. A core tenet of our corporate governance program is the ability for all employees and others dealing with the Company to seek guidance on ethical and legal issues and to report potential misconduct. We employ various internal reporting and issue resolution processes to support our efforts. We also provide, through an independent third party, a confidential, always available hotline and web portal for employees seeking guidance or reporting potential misconduct.
Third-Party Vendor Management
CCC’s Third-Party Vendor Management Policy and Procedures provide guidance to our employees for interacting with third-party vendors. We offer a framework for evaluating, selecting, and managing third-party vendors, including the collection of information around vendors’ relevant policies and controls with respect to their practices around ethical conduct, legal compliance, data privacy and security, and anti-corruption.
Privacy and Data Protection
Respecting and protecting individuals’ privacy and the data entrusted to us by our customers, vendors, and employees is one of our core responsibilities. CCC implements security and privacy standards, publishes privacy and security statements, maintains detailed incident response plans, and follows a defense-in-depth strategy to proactively detect vulnerabilities and minimize risks. Our employees and contractors participate in required annual cybersecurity and privacy training, and we regularly test our training’s effectiveness via targeted phishing exams. As we grow and requirements change, we have set up processes to ensure our practices meet our compliance goals and market expectations.
AI Governance
As a leader in artificial intelligence technologies, we pride ourselves on the ethical, compliant, and considered development of AI. As requirements and expectations quickly change, we have internal organizations to regularly review, document, and monitor the development of new algorithms and products while adhering to our privacy and data requirements.
Risk Management
As part of our ongoing enterprise risk management (ERM) program, key business leaders identify the most significant potential internal and external risks in terms of likelihood and potential impact and offer management and mitigation strategies for addressing such risks. The Audit Committee of the Board of Directors periodically reviews progress reports and summaries of management’s actions and outcomes related to these risks. CCC’s Risk Committee, which consists of a cross-section of executive leadership, oversees the ERM program. The program is also facilitated by CCC’s internal audit department in conjunction with an independent firm.
